Celebrating the year of Jubilee while figuring out how to make sense of the world around us…
Year of Jubilee Begins {Daily Dash: January 13, 2025}
IN MY LIFE:
How can there be so much to be thankful for and yet still so much to grieve? The older I get, the more ‘normal’ I realize this posture is. On one hand, we kick off the year of Jubilee (both in the Christian world and for me as I’m about to turn 50!), and at the same time we’re watching lives lost and thousands of homes get destroyed in California.
I think the best we can do is find a way to help someone. Whether that’s a neighbor, a friend online, or an organization in a devastated area, make an effort to do something. At the same time, don’t stop the things that bring you joy.
Just as I prayed for ways to help friends looking for jobs and about to have surgery this weekend, I also had fun celebrating UNC’s win over NC State and watching football. Keep your hearts and hands open for however God wants to fill them.
And one last thing, I just completed my first full week as a planDisney panelist! You can check out my bio and the questions I’ve already answered for Guests at planDisney.
