IN MY LIFE:
It’s not that I don’t like celebrating my birthday – I love it…I’m just not very good at it. And it’s not an age thing because I’ve always been younger than most of my friends (plus I can never remember how old I am anyway!).
I think I build up birthdays in my mind and don’t want to commit to anything, so most of the time I end up doing nothing. For the past few years, we’ve stayed at Gaylord Opryland Resort, which has solved all my problems and been the perfect birthday solution. But this year, our son is on a missions trip, so we didn’t want to do that without him – although I will be there this morning for their “Country Christmas” announcement, so stay tuned for that.
As someone that puts much of my life online, it’s easy to feel like people “know” me without really knowing whether or not they know me at all. So I do have one request from you for my birthday: for my birthday, would you leave a comment below (or message me) with one truth you see in me?
It can be so hard to see things in ourselves that others see easily. And in this time where I’m getting ready to change course with my career a bit, I would love to hear what it is you appreciate about me, our friendship, or even this Daily Dash. It’s a bold ask, I know, but it would mean the world to me. Thank you.
