April 8, 2015: Wait to Buy
Is there something you just can’t wait to have? You may find the will-power after you hear how much money it can save you!
Being born during the Great Depression, my father does not like to spend money…except when it comes to one thing: electronics. I still remember him wanting to have the first iteration of everything technical; in modern terms, it’d be like camping out for the new iPhone.
However, in our fast-paced society, not only does technology become obsolete as soon as it’s released, so do prices! If you can hold out 2-4 weeks after something is released, you’ll typically save at least 20% off initial retail price. When it comes to clothing, that percentage jumps to about 50% by the 4 week mark. So next time someone asks what you’re waiting for, tell them “Better prices!”
