May 15, 2015: Unconventional Reception Location
When it comes to weddings, the reception is what eats up the majority of the budget, so today I’m sharing some ways you may not thought of to save on the celebration…
One easy way to save on your wedding reception is to avoid booking it on the weekends. But let’s face it, that’s typically the most convenient and desirable time to get married. So if you don’t want to get married on a weekday or have a lunch reception (which is another way to save), My tip is to search for an unconventional reception location.
Instead of calling a hotel or banquet hall, search for a spot that has meaning to you or could use the extra publicity and business. For example, we held our wedding reception at a Croquet Club in Florida. It was beautiful and they were thrilled to introduce the community to this new service they offered, so they rewarded us by being the first to use it with a HUGE discount!
