The Daily Dash: September 14, 2018 {@Carnival Cruise Day 5}

IN MY LIFE:
Well, this is it: our last day at sea. I will be in conference sessions all day today, learning from the fabulous women on board who are talented in areas where I’m not.
I also got to experience something incredible for the first time last night: Carnival Chef’s Table. This (almost) four hour experience started with a champagne toast with the Sous Chef and then led to a galley tour where we sampled four different “amuse bouche”s and learned how to make Carnival’s famous chocolate melting cake (which, by the way, I’ve eaten every night on this cruise).
We then were escorted to the library where we had a dedicated staff and ate another eight (yes 8!) courses, including blue cheese brioche, Wagu beef, and the most amazing dessert plate I’ve ever seen (including raspberry mojito cake and a lemon macaron with citrus cream).
Oh, and did I mention we had our own private magic show in between the tomato bisque duo and chilean sea bass so we could have time to digest? And it was awesome! There was also red & white wine if you wanted it, along with sparkling water. Plus, we received a professional photo we took with the chefs AND a copy of the chocolate melting cake recipe.
Was Chef’s Table a little bit of a splurge? Yes.
Was it worth it? Yes.
My friends kept laughing at me because I was in tears for half of this (nearly) four hour experience because I couldn’t believe someone took the time to create such an exquisite experience for me. If you have the chance on a future cruise, DO IT!
