I took time to do something I don’t often do for myself…

IN MY LIFE
I took time this morning to do something I don’t do very often: get my haircut. Why is it that moms (at least many that I know) don’t do this basic self-care? Speaking from first-hand experience, I can’t tell you how many times I’ll make appointments for my children and it doesn’t even dawn on me to make an appointment for myself.
Yes, part of it is frugality. And let’s face it: by keeping my hair long and not coloring it, there’s really not much I have to do to it. But still, I’m not sure why I actually feel guilty for getting my hair done. And when I do get it cut (other than doing it myself in the middle of the night…but that’s another story), I typically ask a friend or just go somewhere close & cheap. Curious if any of you feel the same way…
I am excited because tonight we’re having my daughter’s former youth leader and her new husband over for dinner. What’s even more exciting is that I actually remembered to put everything for dinner in the crockpot this morning! I wish I could say I always get everything done every day exactly as I have it planned in my head, but that’s rarely the case. Here’s hoping you’re extra organized today as well!
