The Daily Dash: May 26, 2017 {Last Day of School}

IN MY LIFE
It’s been an eventful 24 hours (perhaps that’s why I’m coming to you so late). Kariss did in fact cut her hair yesterday – almost a foot of it. Tears did fall, but we’re focusing on why she did it, who she did it for and how change is good in all our lives (especially before summer).
Today was the kids’ last day of school. We’re proud of how they ended. Not gonna lie – it was a tough year with both of them in a new school (junior high), but they both ended with all A’s for the first time in the 4th quarter, which only about ten kids per grade achieved.
After the awards ceremony, we went to visit our friends who just had a new baby and got all our newborn snuggles in for as long as we could! We also have good friends in town for the K-Love fan awards, so we left straight from the hospital to meet them for lunch, honoring our last day of school tradition and eating at Japanese hibachi.
During lunch, we discovered their family has never been on Broadway, so we gave them a quick tour of downtown Nashville, the Farmer’s Market and Bicentennial Park.
Tonight we’ll be cheering on our nephew in one of his final baseball games and meeting up with more friends. I shared a bunch of pictures today on social media, but here is the iconic “last day of school” picture:
