IN MY LIFE:
One of the kids’ areas on the cruise I wish I could have taken advantage of was the Marvel Super Hero Academy. (They didn’t believe I was under 12 ?.) Luckily for me, there was a digital copy of Thor: Ragnarok awaiting us when we got home!
I don’t know how, but I missed this title when it was in theaters (I think because my kids went without me). Literally, the first thing we did after bringing our suitcases inside was to crash on the couch and watch it as a family. I’ll admit, I haven’t watched the other Thor films all the way through, but I was really excited about this one, especially after the preview at the end of Dr. Strange and Infinity War getting ready to come out this year. What I especially loved about this film was the “buddy” relationship that developed between Thor & Hulk – an unlikely duo with a mix of comedy and action that entertained everyone in our family.
Here’s what you’ll really want to pay attention to: Fans who bring home the Ultimate Cinematic Universe Edition (4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital) of “Thor: Ragnarok” will experience all the thunderous action and lightning-fast wit in stunning 4K Ultra HD with next-generation high dynamic range (HDR) visuals and Dolby Atmos immersive audio. Exclusive, never-before-seen bonus features include deleted scenes; hilarious outtakes; an exclusive short: part three of the mockumentary “Team Thor,” retitled “Team Darryl” and featuring an eccentric new roommate; numerous making-of featurettes which explore the unique vision of director Taika Waititi; the story’s unstoppable women; the effortlessly charismatic Korg; the tyrannical leader of Sakaar, the Grandmaster; and the film’s comic-book origins; audio commentary by Waititi; and more.
But my absolute favorite bonus feature was watching “Marvel Studios: The First Ten Years – The Evolution of Heroes” where they examine the Cinematic Universe as a whole and revisit each of Marvel’s heroes’ current location and their place in the current MCU timeline, as it all leads up to the one culminating event: “Avengers: Infinity War.”
Marvel fans everywhere will be pleased to know the colorful cosmic adventure, loaded with action, humor, drama and spectacle, bursted into homes Digitally in HD and 4K Ultra HD™, and Movies Anywhere, on Feb. 20 and on 4K Ultra HD™, Blu-ray™, DVD and On-Demand on March 6.
