My baby turns 11 today amidst tornadoes…

IN MY LIFE
I know I say it every year, but I can’t believe my baby boy is another year older! My son, Britton, turns 11 today and it’s already been quite an eventful morning. We had tornadoes roll through Nashville this morning, so we spent the wee hours before school in an interior closet. Everyone is safe now though.
We took him to Outback for an early birthday dinner last night and tonight after Chess club we’ll take him to Blaze Pizza, his other favorite. Hopefully the storms can stay away long enough for us to celebrate ?
Today is also Ash Wednesday and the first day of Lent. While Lent is more of a Catholic tradition and something we’ve never really ‘celebrated’ in the past, I like the idea of challenging ourselves to give something up for 40 days to focus on something better. In addition to individual things we’ll be ‘giving up’, we’ll also be putting an end to negativity. I’ll give you more updates on that as we progress through the month.
