IN MY LIFE:
I know I already told you about Nashville Symphony’s “Star Wars in Concert” on Friday, but now that we’ve seen it, I had to follow up with you on it because my son said, and I quote, “That was the best show I’ve ever seen!”
I’m not exaggerating when I say we both had goose bumps and had to wipe tears away from our eyes as the orchestra started to play the MGM intro theme; we realized what we were about to experience was going to be majestic…and it was.
First of all, I don’t know who thought of this concept (having a live orchestra play during an iconic movie), but they were brilliant.
Second of all, I never realized just how much music there was in films!
Third, they displayed closed captioning on the bottom of the screen, allowing me to understand film lines like never before ?
And finally, it flew by. I wasn’t sure what I thought going into this, but I wasn’t sure I’d be able to sit through an entire movie in that venue, but I was (comfortably) on the edge of my seat the entire time. They did take one 20 minute intermission – a well-deserved rest for the orchestra members!
They won’t be offering the next Star Wars film until next July, but I know the Nashville Symphony has done similar events with Harry Potter films and others, so I’ll be sure to let you know once I hear of them doing it again.
PRAYER FOCUS: Generous
As my daughter is on a missions trip this week, my son is going to participate in a local serving opportunity and I’m featuring another Project 615 campaign tee today, it is only fitting that I pray generosity over each of you.
MONTH OF 615
As a reminder, all month on The Daily Dash I’ll be wearing tees from Project 615, who supports world-changing causes through their apparel. Today’s pick is one of Project 615’s previous campaign tees, “Live for Today”, to fight against ALS and featuring former Titans’ captain (& friends of ours), Tim Shaw & his dad, John. While you can’t buy the shirt any longer, you can learn more about the campaign here: https://www.project615.org/blog/2017/9/7/live-for-today-a-campaign-benefiting-the-als-association-tennessee-chapter.
