IN MY LIFE
I had a beautiful, yet chill, birthday celebration yesterday. After a leisurely morning in our room at Opryland, we spent most of the afternoon at the pool before heading to Opry Mills, where we eventually met up with friends for dinner. While I’m not normally a night owl, we came home afterwards to cuddle up on the couch and watch one of my favorite movies, Remember the Titans. Today it’s back to work, while inviting my sister and nephew into town for a few days.
Unfortunately, there is also heartbreak we are dealing with today: one of my son’s favorite teachers of all time, his Kindergarten teacher Ms. Michelle, went to be with Jesus two days ago after a hard-fought battle with cancer (which she called Stupid) for the past few years. Ms. Michelle was such a light and encourager, and while we will desperately miss her on this earth, I can’t help but think she is still guiding us with grace and love from heaven. Yet another reminder to not take a minute for granted and to shower love on those around you.
