We made an impromptu trip to one of our favorite places…

Believe it or not, we realized late last week that Sunday – Tuesday were the only days we had free together as a family to getaway to Dollywood before school starts… so that’s what we did!
We drove in yesterday and headed to Splash Country for a few hours, but the lines were still pretty long, so we went to Dollywood and were able to ride all our favorite rides without hardly any wait, including the new Drop Line!
Even my 11 year old who really doesn’t like many coasters went on it and immediately asked to go on it again. It provides a beautiful panoramic 360 degree view of Dollywood and the Smoky Mountains as you ascend, and then a thrill as you drop! We opted to stay at the SpringHill Suites once again this summer because the rates at DreamMore didn’t fit in our summer budget, plus we love their spacious rooms, delicious (free breakfast) and their proximity to the park.
Today we’re starting at Splash Country again to try to avoid some of the lines and try out their newest attraction, TailSpin Racer. Of course, a trip to Splash Country wouldn’t be the same without a couple turns in the Lazy River and Wave Pool either ?
Then we’ll finish out tonight checking out Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Adventure, so I’ll be sure to give you a full review of that tomorrow…
