IN MY LIFE:
Well folks, it could have been worse. When you find water streaming out of your garage, and it turns out it’s from water soaking through the ceiling and the walls of your upstairs kitchen and downstairs basement, you fear the worst. Now that everything is just about dry, we’re realizing not as much was damaged (in terms of personal property) as we originally feared. However, we still don’t know what effect it had on the structure/integrity of our house.
Still, as I received texts, prayers and messages from friends and co-workers, I’m reminded that while we are breathing, we are always under attack, nothing is a surprise to God, and there are far worse things going on in the world. While this is a setback and frustration for us, we’re praying we will see it for what it is and not allow it to define our mood or our trajectory.
One final note: at one of my last speaking events, I discovered a very cute (& comfortably) dressed woman and assumed she was wearing that famous high-priced athleisure brand, but she wasn’t! She told me it was a brand called LUCY out of California. It was still a little out of my price range, but I have good news for everyone: Lucy has been bought out by North Face, so literally EVERYTHING is at least 50% off on their website.
