IN MY LIFE
Yesterday ended up being more eventful than originally planned: it turns out my son’s basketball injuries weren’t something he could just “shake off” as I had told him to do. Upon further investigation beyond the swelling, we found his pinky was bent in a quite an unnatural way.
After a trip to the pediatrician, we were sent to the children’s hospital for x-rays and then to meet with the orthopedic doctor to discover there were in fact two fractures. He now looks like a mix between Spock and a struggling lobster.
I have to admit, I do thank God in the midst of circumstances like those because for one, it reminds me that anything can happen at any moment and I need to be better at living in the moment. It also makes me thankful that we have capable doctors available to us that are able to help us in our time of need. We just watched Queen of Katwe this weekend, so if you have seen the movie, you know what I mean and cannot ignore all the resources we have available to us.
