What is it that blinds you to the peace of God? – Oswald Chambers
IN MY LIFE:
We had some HUGE storms in Nashville last night, but luckily no flooding and the sun is shining brightly today. Yesterday I read some very poignant words in Oswald Chambers’ “My Utmost for His Highest” (https://www.savings.com/z/gi8x). I was first challenged by the idea of “strange god” (lowercase “g”), which is basically any unholy nature that controls my life that is never satisfied.
The more challenging question to ask yourself to further define what a “strange god” is would be if you find yourself saying, “I knew that I should have given it up, but I didn’t”.
To further blow your mind, Oswald went on to drop this bomb on me:
“Never be afraid when God brings back your past.
Let your memory have it’s way with you.
It is a minister of God, bringing its rebuke and sorrow to you.
God will turn what might have been into a wonderful lesson of growth for the future.”
If any of you have been through struggles in your past that you find yourself having trouble dealing with on a daily basis, I pray this comforts and soothes you today.
