Yes, it’s tax day. Yes, ours are done. No, we were not prepared for the bill this year. I’ll be honest, it’s a bit embarrassing. Obviously, I’m the money girl in the family and somehow I didn’t estimate correctly (even with pre-payment). It stinks, but it is what it is and it’s a wake up call.
It just goes to show, you can never be too prepared. I focus much of my energy on my workday, but I truly need to be better about spending time each month reviewing our finances and setting us up for success. Take it from me, it’s worth the time and energy, especially so you’re not scrambling at the last minute.
