To see that I’m doing a giveaway of Tatianna: Tales and Teachings of My Feline Friendmay surprise some of you.
To say that I’m not much of an animal lover is an understatement. But before you start sending hate mail my way, please understand that I’m allergic to many four-legged friends. So it’s not so much of a dislike as it is a desire to stay healthy that keeps me away.
That being said, I wanted to be able to share the tale of Tatianna with you all, animal lovers and haters alike. This award-winning book so cleverly written by my friend and former colleague, Linda Mohr, is more than just a tribute to her feline friend, but a life lesson for so many of us.
I asked Linda to describe the book in her own words:
People often ask me how this book developed. The day after my beloved Tatianna passed away I sat down with a spiral notebook. The pen was flying across the pages. I did not know where the thoughts were coming from. But I continued writing. Later I realized I had a message for people and pets.
The memoir shares my daily relationship with Tatianna. She was in the circle of my life for almost sixteen years. Her imprint and impact were powerful. She taught me many lessons including savor the present moment, appreciate an ordinary day, and celebrate extraordinary accomplishments. Her most important lesson was to love unconditionally. Through the special human-animal bond we shared, we created miracles.

Miranda, what a blessing that you and your cat found each other after all those years! Debbie, I agree with you–having your best fur friend waiting to greet you is heartwarming! Thanks for sharing your stories.
I had a toy poodle for 17 years who died of cancer less than a year after I had lost my husband to the same disease. It has taken me over 10 years to get another dog. It is amazing to be greeted again as if you were the best thing in the world whether you have been away for 2 hours or 15 days.
I would like to win this book because I have a cat of my own. He is so precious and every day I learn something from him. I adopted him from the humane society a year and a half ago. He had been there on and off for over 5 years the people there said, and that time he had waited for a new home over 4 months! I could not resist his precious half Siamese cat face. I would love to read someone elses memoir to their cat, to see if all cat owners face the same spiritual uplifting from owning a cat as I do.
