CVS
-sign up for CVS Extra Care Card
-register your card online and they’ll send emails with $5/$20 purchase coupons
-scan card at their red kiosk every time you go for special coupons
–green bag tag – only $.99 and earn $1 Extra Care Buck on your receipt after every 4 scans. Also, CVS/pharmacy will donate 5 cents to World Wildlife Fund for every Green Bag Tag™ sold between April 1, 2010 and March 31, 2011.
-Take advantage of Extra Care Bucks: awards that can be used like cash at CVS on future purchases. (Break purchases up into multiple transactions to really take advantage of/roll over)
Walgreens
-Register Rewards: instant rebates that print out after a qualifying transaction and good on a future purchase. (similar to Extra Care bucks – Items qualifying for Register Rewards are marked in the weekly sales flyer).
Rite-Aid
-Single Check Rebate: After qualifying purchases, submit form online and you’ll receive a check back at the end of the month (a little harder to keep up with since there are more time limitations and can only submit it once per month, but definitely worth it!)
– Rite Aid finally has a rewards program! Join the Rite Aid Wellness Plus program and get members-only benefits, plus 10% off all Rite-Aid brand products, earn 20% off no-prescription purchases and 24/7 access to pharmacists. Also when you join, you’ll get a coupon for $5 off a $25 purchase!
Walmart
-Walmart will price-match any item with a flyer from a competitor. Though this can be time consuming, it can be a great way to take advantage of sales at other drugstores that might not be located very close to you if Walmart is more convenient. (Some stores will only match ads of stores within a 2 mile radius, so check with your local store for their policy).
-Do not usually offer their own coupons, but do accept manufacturer’s coupons
-Sign up online for free samples and special daily deals
Target
-Target ffers store coupons in print and online that you can pair with manufacturer’s coupons
-Reusable Bag Credit: doesn’t have to be a Target bag. You’ll get a $.05 credit for each reusable bag you bring in with you. Cashier will need to scan a barcode on the wall behind them (some need to be reminded).
-Often offer gift cards with special purchases: time it right and you can often get the items on special for FREE with coupons plus score a gift card too!
