IN THE WORD:
God will never reveal more truth about Himself to you, until you have obeyed what you know already ~ Oswald Chambers
IN MY LIFE:
What would you say if I told you I could help you build a foundation for parenting that’s purposeful, effective and (most importantly), not so exhausting?
I know what I’d say: “Sign me UP!”
Let me rephrase that: I can’t be the one that helps you, but I know someone who can. A longtime friend and mentor, Brenda Jacobson, has released a book that will guide you through how to accomplish exactly that.
At this point, you’re thinking, “How?” It’s about opening two-way communication with the Lord so you can be a full participant in his plan for your family.
Brenda starts out by reminding us of some very important truths (whether you’re a parent or not):
You are not alone.
You do not have to live life in survival mode.
There is a foundation for you to stand on.
Perhaps what REALLY sets this book apart is that it is a WORKBOOK; that’s right, you’re not just reading about what you should do, you’re actually guided through the act of bringing action to your family.
Brenda covers everything from deal with pain from your past to empowering your children to thrive as adults. Each chapter include attainable action steps, personal reflection questions, brief, easy-to-remember prayers and so much more.
My spiritual mama, Jackie Kendall (who has also written some incredible books on parenting and mentoring), always reminded me that some of her greatest mentors were in the shape of authors through their books.

PRAYER FOCUS: Peacemaker
As we’ve been having some heated debates with the younger members of our family lately (& hearing so many with the current political climate), I pray that each of us can be peacemakers, being intentional in decreasing conflict.
