Quit The Gym

January 21, 2015: Quit the Gym

One of the most common New Year’s resolutions is to hit the gym, but if you don’t already have a gym membership, I’m going to caution you not to invest in one.

Some people think that the mere act of investing in a gym membership while make them go, but that’s rarely the case.

Instead, I’d advise you to get into the habit of exercising at home first, making use of both tried and true exercises (like sit-ups, jumping jacks and walking) as well as free online workouts, before you shell out an initiation fee and monthly membership costs.

Once you’ve proven to yourself that you can in fact set aside the time to work out and feel you need more equipment to take your fitness to the next level, then you can find a local gym. But until then, get cracking on those calisthenics.
