IN MY LIFE:
Listening to Dave Chappelle in the cold open/monologue of SNL this past week, I was shocked he was able to say a lot of what he said. But then he finished by saying something that not only caught me off guard, but that was quite astute. Essentially, he said we all need to “do better”.
I don’t mention it regularly, but I wrote a book about a decade ago called “Raising Uncommon Kids” about how to raise more selfless kids. Sometimes big problems make us feel helpless, but like I discussed in the book, we need to act locally before we can think globally. And truly, that means starting within the walls of our homes and in our communities.
I pray we all think that way as we strive to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. today and as our nation embarks upon a new year with a new President.
