It makes me so happy to bring you my Opryland Christmas special for 2020. I’ll be the first to admit, there were times where I wasn’t sure if the annual “A Country Christmas” would even happen. But in true Gaylord Opryland fashion, they found a way to put their guests first and make it better than ever.
The Sami Cone Show’s Opryland Christmas Special 2020
Nestled just outside the heart of Nashville is a magical place that becomes even more so during the holiday season. Even though we live in Music City, our holidays don’t get started until we visit Gaylord Opryland Resort.
There’s so much to do, so much to see, so much to eat and yes, so. Much. Christmas. But don’t worry, in my 2020 TV special, I show you how to maximize your time and money so you can make the most of this year‘s 37th annual A Country Christmas. Just consider this insider’s guide my little gift to you.
Sure, this year has been a little different, but I can’t wait to give you a sneak peak into all the holiday fun and traditions waiting for you.

I Love Christmas Movies Immersive Experience
We start the show with a walk through the new I Love Christmas Movies immersive experience.
Because of travel restrictions, the Chinese artisans could not come create ICE! this year. And while we miss the beauty of their workmanship, we could not be more excited about this new pop-up event.
Guests walk through recreated scenes from 5 of the most iconic Christmas movies of all-time, including:
- Elf
- Polar Express
- A Christmas Story
- The Year Without a Santa Claus
- National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
Have your cameras ready because there are fun surprises in each room (including snow in South Town!). You’ll need to purchase your tickets online in advance and you’ll be assigned a time window in which to arrive. Small groups no larger than 8 are escorted through each scene by a “Production Assistant” so you can stay socially distant in a safe manner.
Unwrap their best rates of the season! Save up to 30% off overnight stays and 50% off I LOVE CHRISTMAS MOVIES™ tickets at Gaylord Opryland on select days:
- Click to save on your hotel stay
- Click to save on I Love Christmas Movies
I’ve also seen a local radio station with a “Buy 2 Get 2 Free” ticket offer to “I Love Christmas Movies” when you enter the code RIVER. I’ve also used the code NASHTN30 to save 30% off the experience. Remember, terms and conditions apply.

Homemade Peppermint Bark Recipe Demonstration with Gigi Butler
Another gem that is tucked away is the gingerbread decorating corner and bakery down at Waters Edge in the Delta Atrium. Just above the bakery, you’ll find some of our favorite restaurants and shops, but this is where the real treats of the season are found.
I met up with Gigi Butler, of Pies by Gigi, to learn how to make homemade Peppermint Bark. And after learning how easy it is to make and tasting how delicious her peppermint bark is, you’ll never buy it from a store again!
So Much Christmas Inside & Outside at Opryland
With over 4 million lights and over a dozen activities both inside and outside the hotel (many of which are free), it would take your family over 17 hours to do it all back to back!
Follow me on my Opryland Christmas tour as I preview all the Christmas activities. (Hint: don’t miss the two poinsettia trees in both the Magnolia and Delta Atriums).
