“The Lord called to Moses…”
Leviticus 1:1
The Lord still calls to us and it’s up to us to accept his calling…
Calling of God’s People: Devotion Day 44
Before we dig into Leviticus, we need to set a foundation. And I couldn’t say it better than it says in my Hebrew Greek Key Word Study Bible.
‘The book of Leviticus emphasizes the fact that God spoke directly to Moses. This fact is recorded some fifty times in the book.
Leviticus in Hebrew literally means “and he called”. And while Leviticus does speak directly to the calling of the Levites, the overall content and purpose remind us of the calling of ALL God’s people.
Today we need to remember that God is holy and the sacrifices and offerings from Leviticus are merely symbolic of the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ which would ultimately take away the sins of the world.
