IN MY LIFE:
Not only did I get a sneak peek of the new Dumbo movie last night, my daughter got to come with me! (This is a bigger deal than you might realize…)
I’ll be honest, I’m not always a fan of the new live-action versions of the Disney classic animated films. I even considered not going to watch the new Dumbo. But for whatever reason, my teenage daughter really wanted to see this one. (She’s a Tim Burton fan and let’s face it, who can resist the cuteness of Dumbo).
I was fully prepared not to like this movie, but it pleasantly surprised both of us! I’m not going to go into all the details here because we actually filmed a video review as soon as we came out of the theater last night. However, there were two moments that stood out that I want to share with you:
1. When Dumbo flew for the first time, K leaned over and whispered, “Did anyone else get chills, or just me?”
2. My absolute favorite quote came at the end of the film and will stay with me forever, “Your children don’t need you to be perfect, they just need you to believe in them.”
I’ve heard some of the early Dumbo reviews have been less favorable, but our experience proves that often how you feel about a movie is more than just what you see on screen; it’s also about the emotions it evokes, the people you are with and the memories you make.

PRAYER FOCUS: Believe
This word has been ever-present in our lives this past week, and was a HUGE theme of this movie. May you believe with the wonder of a child today.
