November 4, 2015: Natural Throat Remedy
Can an old family remedy really help the common cold?
Cold and flu season is upon us and let’s face it, no matter how many times we wash our hands or take necessary precautions, chances are we’re going to come down with at least a cold in the coming months.
So how can we treat it without unnecessary doctors bills and over-the-counter medicine?
My Jewish grandmother had a surefire technique that I thought was silly when I was young and now swear by it. It’s a concoction we call warm lemonade at home that is made of water as hot as you can stand it, honey and fresh lemon juice. This combination of ingredients not only kills bacteria, but coats the throat, soothing sore throat and cough alike.
Why not give it a try this season before reaching for an expensive over the counter remedy?
