November 16, 2015: National Shoebox Collection Week 2015: Toys
It’s operation Christmas child national shoebox collection week, so every day this week I’ll be giving you a special tips on how to save on the five most important items you can add to your shoebox.
Today’s Shoebox item is toys. One of the most popular items I realized on my trip to Ecuador to distribute shoeboxes was a small toy like jump ropes, balls, dolls, kazoos, yo-yos, harmonicas and especially something to cuddle, like a stuffed animal: This is a luxury to many children and they all immediately looked for one in their boxes.
Of course, don’t overlook playthings for older children, like art kits, sewing kits, tool kits or even sporting gear.
For extra savings, take advantage of all the pre-Black Friday coupons and deals available, especially when buying in bulk online.
