Lower the Temperature[powerpress]

January 8, 2015: Lower the Temperature

What can you turn down to amp up your savings?

Believe it or not, lowering the temperature of your water and your heat can really help you save on your utility bills!

Start by lowering the temperature on your hot water heater to between 120-130 degrees Fahrenheit and actually setting a timer on your dryer (or consider air-drying your clothes when feasible).

Even bumping your thermostat down a few degrees can save you around $100 a month depending on your square footage.

You’ll also want to ask your utility companies if they offer any incentive or rebate programs to help lower your bill.
