If you’re looking for love today, you’re definitely not alone, so I want to share a story about a musical taking a twist on a classic love story. I’m also finally ready to share a little of my own romantic history too…
Honest & Juliet Review + Valentine’s Day Courage {Daily Dash: February 14, 2025}
IN MY LIFE:
We all know the classic love story (if you can call it that) of Romeo and Juliet. The new musical “& Juliet” asks us to imagine if Juliet hadn’t killed herself after discovering Romeo dead. The stage is set with William Shakespeare and his wife, Anne, who asks him to re-imagine the ending of the star-crossed lovers and then we watch it play out live on stage in front of us…of course with some twists and turns along the way.
The best part about this second chance at love is that the new story is woven together with some of the best pop anthems from the 1990s and early 2000s from the likes of Brittany Spears, Backstreet Boys, Katy Perry, and Celine Dion.
Juliet’s second chance at love was created by the Emmy®-winning writer from Schitt’s Creek and is playing at TPAC in Nashville through February 16. You can also get a sneak peek at TPAC’s 45th Annual Broadway season premiering 2025-26.
Speaking of love stories, I feel like it’s time to tell you more of my own. I’m still not exactly sure how to tell it and how much to tell, but I know I can’t stay silent anymore. I’m tired of protecting people at the risk of my own mental and physical health. But I wish I had heard more stories about women who had experienced the same type of infidelity I was put through, so please pray for me as I discern the right way to put it all out there.
