April 22, 2015: Homemade Fabric Softener
Today I’m going to tell you about one thing I REALLY don’t like spending money on, but my family doesn’t like to live without…
If there’s one thing my kids love imitating from TV, it’s that soft fluffy teddy bear falling into clean sheets in slow motion. While I am a fan of clean sheets, I’m not a fan of spending a lot of extra money just to make my laundry smell better.
That’s why I’m so excited to share this recipe for a homemade fabric softener.
DIY/Homemade Fabric Softener:
1 gallon white vinegar
30-40 drops of essential oil (Lavender, orange, lemon, peppermint, & tea-tree oil are al great options)
Shake well before each use: 1/2 cup for average loads, 1/4 cup for HE machines.
The real beauty of this is that you can also make smaller amounts that you personalize with whatever scent you feel like on any given day AND because it uses white vinegar, it’s also cleaning the washing machine while it’s softening your clothes!
