Day 2: Harmony & Joy
Chapter Title: Lessons are Caught…
Prayer Focus: Character of the Home
Chapter 1 started with our foundation of love, but before we can begin to focus our attentions on others, we need to talk about the tone in our own home. Creating a culture and character of harmony in the home has as much to do with emotion as it does with aesthetic.
Where you live does not matter as much as how you live, which may come as a reality check for many parents too focused on providing material things for their family instead of focusing on emotional stability.
The overall key lies in integrity and consistency between what exists within the home and what is projected outside the home.
Mentor Mom Moment: In this chapter, we benefit from the wisdom of Jane Randlett. Ms. Jane was the first woman to teach me the importance of memorizing full chapters of the Bible (instead of simply memorizing stand-alone verses). Just as meaningful was the story she told me about a realization in her marriage regarding the role we play as wives, which I share in the book titled, “What Only You Can Provide”…
