Who doesn’t love the aquarium? I love taking family and friends to the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga.
Lucky for all of us, I just found out that that from September 10-20, 2018 all college students, members of scouting organizations and their families can take advantage of special half-price admission to the Tennessee Aquarium. The discount applies to Aquarium tickets and 45-minute IMAX film screenings, as well as combo ticket purchases.
How you can receive your half-price aquarium tickets:
- Scouts must wear their uniform, sash or a scouting activity shirt. Scouting staff also are eligible for discounted admission with the presentation of a valid pay stub.
- College students, staff and faculty members must present their ID, transcript or paystub.
The good news is everyone in your party doesn’t have to be a scout or college student, because the discount applies to the entire visiting party. The only catch is you must be purchased onsite at the Aquarium ticketing center or the IMAX 3D Theater box office.
Here is a little bit about what they are offering at the Aquarium right now:
- In addition to up-close encounters with amazing animals during any of more than a dozen free daily programs, guests visiting during September can catch up on several new updates to the Aquarium experience.
- Keen-eyed visitors can put their peepers to the test by trying to spy all three camouflaged Chinese Crocodile Lizards that recently were introduced to the Rivers of the World gallery.
- In Ocean Journey, guests can watch the Gentoo and Macaroni Penguins enjoying rolling swells courtesy of a newly upgraded wave machine.
- Across the street, IMAX guests will be able to take in the astonishing animal drama playing out just beyond their doorstep in The Wild Around You 3D or take a mesmerizing trip beneath the waves with the stunningly beautiful footage of Oceans: The Blue Planet 3D.

Tennessee Aquarium: $15 (adults and college students) / $9.50 (ages 3-12)
IMAX*: $6 (adults) / $5 (ages 3-12)
Tennessee Aquarium/IMAX combo ticket: $19 (adults) / $13.50 (ages 3-12)
