November 3, 2014: Frozen Oatmeal Recipe
One of the biggest trends in breakfast is oatmeal. And not just any oatmeal, but perfect oatmeal, but I’m here to gift you a time and money saving tip about it today!
It’s amazing how much coffee shops and fast food restaurants are charging for this old fashioned breakfast food that’s making a comeback, even though at home it costs just pennies per serving.
Where people get tripped up is the amount of time it takes to make really good oatmeal, like steel cut oats.
My trick is that I will make a big batch on the weekends, freeze a half cup serving in a muffin tin, and then pop it out and store in the freezer so that it’s ready to go during the week. Then I can add my favorite fruit, nuts and honey, saving me dollars per day over retail.
