October 23, 2014: Free Ways to Make Calls
Believe it or not, a phone isn’t the only way to make calls anymore…
Phones have come a long way since I was a kid, to the point that we do not even have a home phone anymore. And I don’t just mean because of cell phones…
Even though phone rates have dropped recently with so many companies competing for your business, there are still ways to stay on a low price plan by taking advantage of free ways to make phone calls.
My favorite has been getting a free Google phone number that I was not only able to customize, but it allows me to make phone calls right from my computer. That way I can actually speak to friends and colleagues over my computer while still working on the computer. Skype is another program that allows not only free calls to other members, but also video calls, which are a big hit with long-distance relatives.
Keep in mind, these same companies also have apps, allowing you to use your phone to make these calls without using any of your cell phone minutes to do so.
