Are you looking for some free tax help this year? Tax preparation help can be hard to come by (especially for free!), so I was excited to find these two options for tax help in 2011:
*Free tax help at H&R Block through 2/15/11
Now through 2/15, go into your local H&R Block office and a REAL PERSON will help you prepare your 1040EZ form for free. Of course, not all of us can file with a 1040EZ, but if you qualify and are looking for some tax help from a professional, this is a great option!
*Free tax prep for TN Flood Victims
If you were affected in any way by the Nashville Flood last May, the Legal Aid Society wants to help you through the process of filing your taxes. Free help is limited to the first 100 who ask, so hurry over to their site for more info.
I’ve also heard you can contact the United Way at 211 on your phone to find income-based tax help.
Every year we’ve also found free tax help at our local library from retired CPA’s with a kind heart for volunteering.
The 2011 tax deadline has been extended to April 18, 2011. So it appears the government has given everyone the gift of time this year…
