After an incredible weekend with friends, we’re dealing with tough news today…
Fall Break Friends | Death in the Family {The Daily Dash: October 14, 2019}

IN MY LIFE:
It seems strange to share such happy and sad news simultaneously, but after all, isn’t that so often how life works?
First the happy: we have friends that are more like family who came to spend fall break with us all the way from Houston. It’s rare when you find a married couple you get along with so well, but when your kids consider each other best friends too, then you count yourself truly blessed. We laughed, we ate and we even zip-lined through the forests of West Nashville. It was exactly what we needed.
Unfortunately, that amazing weekend was followed with sad news this morning. Ricky’s cousin who has been in liver failure for the past month passed away in Florida this morning. It’s hard to find words in a situation like this, but we’re amazed at all the people who have surrounded him in prayer and those who continue to support the family.
PRAYER FOCUS: Joy in the midst of Sorrow
I know I typically only have one prayer focus, but as we process the loss of Ricky’s cousin, we focus on finding joy in the midst of sorrow. If you too are going through a similar pain or loss, my prayer is that you can do the same.
