IN MY LIFE:
Let’s call today Mom Boss Monday. I don’t typically subscribe to or appreciate labels, but I’m feeling it today. As an entrepreneur and business owner going into the last day of the month and the quarter, I feel like I must embrace the role of Mom Boss today more than ever.
I’v been told I don’t rest well, and I know that’s true. I always have a ton of tabs open simultaneously. What does that mean? Think of a computer: within any one window, you can open multiple tabs. On any given day, I typically have 4 windows open with anywhere from 10-43 tabs on each.
I have so many ideas swirling around at any given time and the key today is focusing on which of those ideas are viable and then actually putting steps in place to make them come to fruition.
I also want to thank those of you who messaged me privately about my question yesterday. It turns out the question isn’t so much about why don’t people go to church, but what do we do (especially as believers) as a result of the response to the question? How do we live our lives differently? How do we cultivate community outside of the four walls of the church. That is what I must ponder more…
PRAYER FOCUS: Expectations
Yesterday I co-taught a class on expectations in our Sunday class. Sometimes we sabotage our relationships by going in to conversations and interactions with expectations and when they aren’t met, we’re offended. A friend in the class reminded us that it’s OK to go in with anticipation, but to try not to go in with unrealistic expectations.
