December 15, 2015: DIY Gifts
Even if you’re not crafty or into DIY (believe me I am not one of those), you can still make unique and inexpensive gifts that friends and family will love this holiday season.
One of my favorites that we received as a housewarming gift a couple years ago was from a friend who bought plain white tiles from Home Depot and then shellacked them with some unique scrapbook paper that she got from a craft store. She finished it off by adding a little felt on the bottom and gave us a set of four unique coasters that cost less than five dollars total and took hardly any time to make.
Don’t be afraid to think out of the box and use inspiration you see in gift stores to help you find cheaper alternatives you can create yourself.
