Disney Value Resorts: Disney Deals Day 2
Welcome back for Day 2 in my 31 Days of Disney Deals! If you joined me for my Daily Disney Deals yesterday, then you already know that if you want to save up to thousands of dollars on your Disney vacation, you need to travel during Disney Value Season.
But if you want to take your Disney values to the next level, you’ll want to stay at a Disney Value Resort.
Over the coming days, I’ll share more about the value of staying on Disney property, but today I want to make sure you understand the different Disney resort categories & about how much you can expect to pay for each:
*Disney Value Resorts (around $100/night)
*Disney Moderate Resorts (around $200/night)
*Disney Deluxe Resorts ($300 & up/night)
As you can see, you can save 50% or more simply by staying at a Disney Value Resort!
In addition to the above Disney resort categories, Disney also offers (Vacation Club) Villas, Family Suites & of course, their Fort Wilderness Campground.
We’ve stayed at 80% of the hotels on Walt Disney World property, and while we’ve loved most of them, we simply can’t justify the price of paying any more money than for the Value Resorts. Not to mention, no matter which resort we’ve stayed at, our kids ALWAYS ask, “Why aren’t we staying at Pop Century??”
That’s right, Pop Century is just one of the Disney Value Resorts, but it’s our kids ABSOLUTE favorite (you can read why, along with all my Disney Value Resort reviews, here).
The basic principle to remember is that the closer the hotel is to one of the Disney Theme Parks, the more expensive it will be.
The thing is that, at least for our family, we don’t spend a ton of time in our hotel when we’re at Disney World. So why spend the extra money on somewhere you don’t spend much time?
But really, our kids love the true Disney decor, extensive food court and the large pool at the Pop Century.
And while there are some uniquely themed Moderate Resorts, the rooms there are barely bigger than those of the Value Resorts and only offer a couple extra amenities, such as a coffee maker and a divider between the beds and the sink area.
It’s important to also note that both the Value Resorts and Moderate Resorts are outdoor corridor hotels, meaning they resemble a motel. If you want a traditional hotel with interior corridors, you would need to book a Deluxe Resort.
So to recap:
Daily Disney Deal #2
Deal: Stay at a Disney Value Resort
Pro: Savings upwards of 60% over Deluxe Resorts
Con: Further away from the theme parks & outdoor corridor hotels
