Disney Junior Channel’s Doc McStuffins makes a house call at the perfect time. Though it doesn’t premier on Disney Junior until today (March 23, 2012), we got a sneak preview in the Cone Home last week…just as my own little ones were under the weather themselves.
I don’t know about your family, but our kids alternated being home sick all last week.
It was then that we received a sweet package from our friends at Disney Junior.
By the way, did you know that Disney Junior is no-longer just going to be on the Disney Channel in the early morning? Starting at midnight, Friday, March 23, they will launch into a 24 hour basic cable/satellite channel specifically designed for kids 2-7 and their parents/caregivers!
Doc McStuffins happens to be one of the newest shows that will air on Disney Junior. It features a charming six year old girl who can talk to her stuffed animals and toys and runs a clinic for them out of her backyard playhouse. Born out of the creator’s own experience as a mom to her 5 year old son who spent a lot of time in and out of doctor’s offices, this show imparts helpful tips about self care and care for others… in addition to chasing away the worries over visiting the doctor!
As excited as I am about the new shows and series on Disney Junior, I’m even more excited about what they’re bringing back: our old favorites! Once again, we’ll be able to see our personal favorites, Higglytown Heroes, Jo Jo’s Circus and the Imagination Movers!
Obviously, the folks at Disney Junior are intuitively listening to their audience and as just one of those moms whose kids love these shows, I want to say THANK YOU!
As you can see in the picture above, my 7 year old wasted no time in re-creating Doc’s medicine bag (out of paper, no-less…isn’t that impressive!) and has already asked if we have any shirts she can use as a doctor’s coat 😉
I’d love to hear what you think once you have a chance to tune in!
