IN MY LIFE:
As you know, last night was our 15th anniversary and in true form, we ended up having dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse like we normally do. I say “ended up” because things have been so hectic that we never really made plans for our anniversary…but going to Morton’s has become our tradition!
Even though it was our wedding anniversary, we decided to bring our kids with us to celebrate. People often wonder how a budget conscious girl such as myself can afford to eat at Morton’s – well let me tell you: their summer special. Sure, there are steaks that are over $100 on their menu (and that’s without salads, sides or dessert). Well, for the next couple weeks, you can get a 4-course meal for just $40!
Yes, you heard that right (and no, this is not a sponsored post or a hosted meal, we just want to make sure you know how we do what we do). For a limited time, you can choose an appetizer, entree, side item and dessert from their summer menu, all for $40 (and yes, a filet mignon is one of your entree options!).
We decided to bring our kids because for one, we’ve had a few emotionally charged days and wanted to stay together and two, our two kids were able to perfectly share the meal because one is a vegetarian and the other doesn’t care for salads ?
One more thing: on top of the free desserts that came with our meal, we also received a free dessert because of our anniversary, in addition to a free photo and commemorative menu.
One more food mention: one of our favorite spots here in Nashville is 312 Pizza Co (that shouldn’t surprise you coming from this Chicago girl!) and today they’re celebrating their Grand Opening at their new South Nashville location. Yes, they have authentic deep dish, Chicago dogs and even Italian Beef. Honestly, I’m a little worried about having their deliciousness in such close proximity to my house now 🙂
