I don’t know about you, but I’ve noticed a definite step up in the quality of my friends’ social posts lately. From stop-motion Instagram posts to animated skies in photos, I never thought I’d be able to figure out their social secrets. But thanks to Adobe Elements, I’ve uncovered the easiest way to create animated social posts…and I’m sharing my tips with you today.
My Family History of Photo Editing
As much as I LOVE taking photos and videos – I currently have over 9,000 on my phone right now – I don’t always know what to do with them. Sure, I can organize them in a folder, but I’ve never known how to really make them pop.
For whatever reason, photo and video editing has always daunted me. Ironically, it was my father’s favorite pastime when he was alive. His entire apartment was covered with poster-size creations he’d printed out from Photoshop. He delighted in creating intricate family trees, beveling borders and even making me laugh by putting my face on the Mona Lisa.
After graduating from college, I finally indulged my dad and allowed him to teach me some of his tips and tricks when it came to editing. To my surprise, I became quite proficient in that visit and created a dandy overview of my college years, complete with subtitles and musical interludes. So imagine my dismay when on my next visit six months later, I’d forgotten most of what I’d learned.
From Passion to Profession
Fast forward to the past decade when my love of documenting life moved from a passion to part of my profession. As a blogger and social influencer, the ability to document my family and experiences actually helped my career. But the degree to which I could take and edit great images affected who hired me.
I didn’t think I could compete with what I was seeing online. I noticed photography quickly moved from phone snapshots to carefully edited scenes. But lately, I’ve felt left in the dust.
Some of my favorite online friends have done incredible work with animated social images, including videos with everything from individual pops of color to slow-motion or freeze-frame effects. Just as I was about to relegate myself to the old-guard of influencers, I discovered an updated version of an old software friend…
Introducing Adobe Premiere Elements 2020
As part of the Best Buy Influencer Network, I was invited to review Adobe Premiere Elements 2020. After thoroughly test driving all of its elements and features, I can confidently tell you it has never been easier to make your photos and videos look professional.
I dare say Adobe Premiere Elements 2020 is the most efficient video-editing software to date, not to mention, the easiest to use yet.
My Favorite Feature of Adobe Premiere Elements 2020
Whereas most video-editing software I’ve tried to trudge through in the past has had a steep learning curve, the opposite proved true with this version of Adobe. Case in point, there is a “GUIDED EDITS” feature that leads you to be able to create “FUN EDITS”, such as glass panes, animated skies, and effects masks.
Don’t believe me?
Look at what I was able to create in just a matter of minutes:
Isn’t that so cool? I also could have added fireworks behind the castle or even a sunset if I wanted.
This is also how you see those photos online with actual steam coming out of a cup of coffee or rain coming down on that fun umbrella shot.

As excited as I am to enhance our family’s photos and videos, I’m especially excited to see what I’ll now be able to create for my new TV show, The Sami Cone Show. Here is a quick example of an animated title I was able to add to a still photo from a recent show taping:
No longer do you have to fear low-light, kids that won’t sit still or even Christmas crowds. I’m not going to call Adobe Premiere Elements 2020 a miracle worker, but it did seem to fix any problem I had and enhance every type of media I threw its way.
You can use Adobe Premiere Elements 2020 with both Mac & Windows and it works with both Video conversion and Video editing. Editing Types include: Color correction, Effects, Filters, Image, and Text. If you plan to purchase the Adobe suite online like I did, an internet connection is required for product activation and content download. You can also purchase it directly from Best Buy.
So whether you’re trying to make your living online or just want to amp up your home videos and photos, I strongly suggest you give Adobe Premiere Elements 2020 a try.
