IN MY LIFE:
Sorry I’ve been off the dash for awhile, but we decided to do Christmas a little differently this year, so I’ve taken some time off. We opted not to do traditional presents – for a number of reasons – but we did decide to take a road trip to Texas to spend the holiday with friends that are like family who were doing the same.
As best as I could, I’ve unplugged and just enjoyed this experience. We’ve eaten our hearts out, walked through the cutest towns, served with a prison ministry, watched movies and had a lot of laughs. While I know our kids love ripping open gifts Christmas morning, my prayer is that they won’d even remember there weren’t any traditional presents when they look back on this Christmas.
So even though I didn’t get a Christmas card out this year and things may not look the way they usually do, I’m thankful for the love we feel in this moment. However you’re celebrating this year, I pray you feel the same way!
PRAYER FOCUS: Re-Focus
My prayer for you today is that you’d stop and refocus before the swell of the holiday hits a crescendo tonight and tomorrow. Take stock of where you are, how you feel and what you want people to remember about this Christmas when they look back on it.
