IN MY LIFE:
By the grace of God, we are on the road to Chicago today for my uncle’s 90th birthday. After my dad’s death three years ago (exactly), we said we didn’t want to wait until funerals to see family.
Even though my dad died at the age of 88 three years ago, both his siblings and their spouses are still alive and doing well, so it’s a privilege to be able to travel to join them for this celebration, especially considering all my husband has gone through this week.
I was born and grew up in Chicago until I left for college when I was 16, so it will always hold a special place in my heart. What’s even more exciting is that my mom flew up to join us, so we can’t wait to spend time with her as well.
PRAYER FOCUS: Faith
During a day that seems very surreal for a number of reason, I pray each of you have faith to trust in what is unseen, and the God who created it all.
