Welcome to the 4th season of “The Sami Cone Show”. We’ve pulled out all the star power for today’s show and I can’t wait to take you on this next journey.
To kick things off, I’m sitting down with the hilarious Anjelah Johnson-Reyes to hear about her new book, life in Nashville and her special taping at the iconic Ryman Auditorium.
Next, both tennis fans and non-tennis fans alike will appreciate my conversation with the director of the new “McEnroe” documentary on Showtime.
Then, I’m taking you to Dollywood for a HUGE announcement from Dolly Parton herself, as well as giving you a tasty tour of Guy Fieri’s Downtown Flavortown.
Finally, I catch up with Blanca ahead of her album release to reveal how her powerful new song with Dante Bowe came to be.
Episode 37 of The Sami Cone Show aired on Friday, September 9, 2022, and re-aired on Saturday, September 10.

Anjelah Johnson-Reyes Books Second Show to Film Next Comedy Special in Nashville
We’ve been laughing along with Anjelah Johnson-Reyes for years (Remember Bon Qui Qui?). Now she not only has a new book, “Who Do I Think I Am?”, but she’s also performing two shows at the iconic Ryman Auditorium on October 1 to tape her new 1-hour comedy special.
A Compassionate Look into John McEnroe’s Mind
I spoke with the director of the new McEnroe documentary on Showtime, Barney Douglas, about how this incredible project came to be. Put aside what you think you knew about John McEnroe and get ready to gain access like never before to this tennis legend.
Dollywood Announcement & Downtown Flavortown Visit
On a recent trip to Dollywood, I got to hear a very special announcement from Dolly Parton herself. In 2023, we can expect to see the largest and longest roller coaster Dollywood has ever built! We also got to sample new menu items from their upcoming Harvest Festival.
Watch our Day at Dollywood & Downtown Flavortown
Speaking of food, we also stopped by Guy Fieri’s Downtown Flavortown in Pigeon Forge. It was the perfect getaway for food and fun with four teenagers before going back to school.
Blanca Reveals How “Healing” Happened
I caught up with Blanca backstage to learn how her latest single with Dante Bowe, “Healing”, came to be. She also spoke truth about what it’s like to be a Latina woman in the current Christian music landscape.

Before I Go, I Need You To Know: Own Who You Are
As Blanca just said so beautifully, we all need to own who we are. Just because you haven’t seen someone do what you want to do doesn’t mean it can’t be done.
Remember, you are not alone and you are not the only one who feels the way you feel.
Never be afraid to ask for help, whether it’s to overcome a struggle or reach a new level of success.
The world already has everyone else. There is only one you. Own who God created you to be in all of your splendor, quirks, and glory.
Trust me, it can be easy to want to take on the world by yourself. But don’t. Just because we were made to be an individual doesn’t mean we should walk this road alone.
Team up, stand out, and celebrate each other. Because it’s within partnership where we truly learn to appreciate the uniqueness of ourselves and others.

Wardrobe Sponsor: Lilly Pulitzer
Once again this month, I walked in to Lilly Pulitzer at the Mal at Green Hills in Nashville thinking I knew what I wanted, and walked out with something complelty different!
Make sure you watch my Instagram Reels for my full try-on (the coral jeans were tough to put back). But once I put this dress on, I knew it was coming home with me. The color is spectacular and the fabric is soft, stretchy and very forgiving. Plus, can we just talk about those puffy sleeves for a minute?
I also love the gold zipper detail on the back. The Knowles Dress in Hosta Green is going to transition perfectly from summer to fall.
Jewelry Sponsor: Kendra Scott
I’ll be honest, the new Kendra Scott fall line focuses on beads and enamel and it just didn’t vibe with my dress for this month. Even though I wore a solid color dress, I felt the need to go with some bold, gold pieces. And those were easy to find at Kendra Scott in Green Hills.
I did create my necklace at the color bar. Interestingly enough, the stone I chose is actually a semi-clear brown color, but I knew it would pick up the color in my clothes, which will make it an even more versatile piece moving forward.
I created direct links to the Kendra Scott pieces I wore on my September show so you can find them easily online:
- Rayne Necklace (customized at the Color Bar)
- Payton Gold Open Frame Earrings in White Crystal
- Juliette Gold Delicate Chain Bracelet in White Crystal (this is what I wanted from last month to match my Juliette ring)
- Ott Adjustable Chain Bracelet in Gold (I like being able to double up on some of the thinner bracelets)
