IN MY LIFE:
Once again, I’ve been working in my Margaritaville Island Hotel room all day, but what a way to work! I opened the French doors to my patio this morning while I stretched, even though it was raining outside. I’m thankful for the space in the Kind Deluxe Fountain-view suite I’m staying in for the ability to focus on work while still having the amenities of home, including a sink, mini-fridge, microwave, Keurig and even a “concoction maker” (I haven’t tried that one out yet, but you know I will!).
And having the over 70 shops, restaurants and activities of The Island Pigeon Forge at my feet is an added bonus; I don’t even have to get in my car if I want to grab a snack or a full meal. In fact, I could even have Mellow Mushroom delivered to my room (there is literally a button on my room phone that connects me directly to them). The bigger problem is making sure I’m not spending my day eating pommel frittes, ice cream and gourmet popcorn.
While I haven’t stopped to go on the 200 ft wheel or the outdoor ropes course yet (I want it to clear up a little bit first), I have spent time walking around and enjoying the fountain show (which was programmed by the same team that worked on the fountains at The Bellagio in Las Vegas).
All that to say, you don’t have to feel TOO badly for me while I’m spending the majority of my day “cooped up” in my room ?
One final note, my friend, Ruth Schwenk, released her newest book today, aptly titled “The Better Mom” (which is also the name of her popular blog). PRAYER FOCUS: Disciple
I read something this morning that reminded me it isn’t my job to save souls, but to disciple them. I pray that each of us is more concerned today with loving other people and sharing our personal relationship with Christ rather than bullying them into making a decision that is not ours to dictate.
