IN MY LIFE
Yesterday ended up being quite eventful: we went to the Preds pre-season opener (they lost to Florida), we made it in time to see my daughter’s volleyball game (they also lost in a tie-breaking point in the last tie-breaking set!), and then went out for a quick dinner in Nashville before finally returning home at 9pm.
Today is not only my busy day at work, tonight begins Rosh Hashanah. For those of you that don’t know, I grew up in a religiously mixed home, so I celebrated all the Jewish holidays in the tradition of my father’s family. While I now love Jesus and live as a Christian, I still believe in embracing and teaching my children about our Jewish roots.
Whatever you do (or don’t) believe it, it’s more important than ever today to take time to get to know other religions, faiths and cultures. Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year, so it represents a time of reflection that all of us can take time to embrace.
