Regardless of whether or not you say my Talk of the Town TV segment on homemade DIY natural beauty products, I’m sharing all the details and recipes right here!
Leading up to Easter 2015, I started a 21 Day Daniel fast that made me not only reconsider what I was eating, but also what I was putting on my body. In an effort to not only save money, but understand about using natural and organic products on my skin, I started researching what I could replace in my bathroom and instead make at home.
Homemade DIY Natural Shampoo
I have not shampooed my hair since mid March. Instead, I mix equal parts of baking soda and hot water in a squeeze bottle and scrub my scalp before rinsing.
Homemade DIY Natural Conditioner
I fill a squeeze bottle with about a half cup of cold water, 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and five drops of orange essential oil.
Homemade DIY Face Wash
I use a coconut oil base that only cleans my face, but also removes make up easily.
Homemade DIY Face Toner
I made my toner using a small spray bottle filled with distilled water, apple cider vinegar and lavender essential oil
Homemade DIY Body Wash
The body wash is made with the combination of distilled water, raw honey, castor oil, Dr. Bronner’s Castile soap, and essential oil.
Homemade DIY Hand Soap
We’ve replaced all our hand soap with the following recipe:
Ingredients
Distilled or boiled water
2 ounces Dr. Bronner’s liquid Castile soap
1/2 teaspoon olive oil
10 drops of your favorite essential oil (I love using lavender or grapefruit from Young living)
Directions
Film soap dispenser about an inch from the top with distilled water (Glass dispensers are best)
Add 2 ounces of Dr. Bronner’s liquid Castile soap
Add olive oil
Add essential oil
