“…place it in front of the Testimony in the Tent of Meeting, where I will meet with you. It shall be most holy to you.”
Exodus 30:36
What would you do to meet with God…
Meet with God: Devotion Day 40
It can be easy to breeze through Exodus, chalking it up to measurements, rules and regulations. But when you read it looking for God to speak to you in a unique way, He delivers.
In yesterday’s devotional, I talked about the most holy place. Back in this time, the thought of speaking with or seeing God was almost unbelievable, if not considered forbidden for common man. And yet God sets a precedent in this verse for meeting with us.
A few verses later, he goes on to talk about the significance of the Sabbath as well. As I read these passages today, I was reminded that God WANTS time with us. He’s asking us to set aside our day to day for the sake of something holy and special.
I’m thankful we no longer have to jump through hoops and rituals to meet with God, but supremely grateful we have direct access to him in our heart, soul, mind and spirit.
