In today’s Daily Dash video, January 5 2015, we’re learning of the passing of some beloved individuals, as well as jury selections, prison sentences, surgeries and the implementation of a New Year’s resolution…
The Daily Dash: January 5 2015 {Death & Trials}
IN THE NEWS:
* 40 million people experiencing arctic blast across the US
* Jury selection begins for surviving Boston bombing suspect
* Prince Andrew faces sex allegations from (then under-age) girl
* 7 year old survives plane crash
* Teresa Giudice begins 15 month prison sentence today
* Little Jimmy Dickens passes away at age 94; ESPN sportscaster Stuart Scott passes away at age 50
IN MY LIFE:
* LOVING: Got very good news from a family member who underwent surgery this morning. They haven’t shared publicly, so I don’t want to either, but just wanted to say how relieved and grateful I am that things weren’t worse.
* LEARNING: When I ran into Pastor Pete after church last night, I HAD to ask him to fill in my missing blanks on this quote because it was so impactful when he said it:
Difference Makers would rather apologize for too much tenacity than regret having too much timidity. ~ Pete Wilson (Click to Tweet)
* DOING: It’s our last day of winter break before school starts again for the kids AND me! Going to try to get our house back in order after vacation, take down the Christmas decorations and start kicking our New Year’s goals into high gear.
One of those goals is to memorize Colossians 3 as a family in the first half of 2015. We’ll be memorizing a verse a week and adding on each Monday. This week, we’re memorizing Colossians 3:1:
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
