I’m one of those all or nothing kind of gals.
When I find a new _____ (insert what you will here: toy, calendar, eating plan, tv show) that I absolutely LOVE, I go gang-busters. I pour myself into that thing, often at the cost of forsaking all else.
While this can be beneficial (especially if it comes to my health), it’s usually not sustainable…which in turn, makes it not such a healthy habit after all!
Just like when I started the MapMyFitness Quaker Challenge. I loved entering my workouts and tracking my progress, but then life, work and travel took over. My challenge tracker seemed to slip further and further from my mind, until…
I received a subtle, yet friendly email asking me, “How are you doing on your MapMyFitness Quaker Challenge? We haven’t seen you in a few days.”
Ah yes! Though I neglected you, you haven’t forgotten about me!
What I’ve found to be so key whenever you’re trying to get healthy, lose weight, start exercising, etc is – accountability. It’s easy to say you’re going to do something, but unless you have someone (or something) checking in on your progress, it becomes increasingly more difficult to actually follow through on what you say you’re going to do!
I’ve found this to be a helpful tool in the midst of my life transformation journey that I’m going through. If you’re looking to make a transformation of your own, why don’t you check out the MapMyFitness Quaker Challenge? You might just be surprised at how that extra accountability finally helps you reach those goals you’ve been striving for, while helping you realize just how tangible they really are!
February is National Heart Health month. Even if it’s only 5 more minutes a day, what extra step will you take to stay fit?
